The poster presentations address either innovations or research. The innovation posters promote dissemination and discussion of educational innovations. The research posters promote dissemination and discussion of completed research and its application to medical education, admissions and student affairs.
Poster presenters are expected to be available at the Poster Session on Monday, March 30th from 7:00-9:00 pm to discuss their innovation or research with session attendees. Posters can be set up beginning at 5:00pm and should be removed by 9:30pm.
The oral presentations address either innovations or research. The innovation oral presentations promote dissemination and discussion of innovations. The research oral presentations promote dissemination and discussion of completed research and its application to medical education, admissions and student affairs.
The format consists of a 10-minute presentation with an additional 5 minutes for questions and discussion with the audience. Each Oral Presentation period is 45 minutes long, with three oral presentations scheduled in that time slot. To ensure there is enough time for each oral presentation, we ask that your presentation (including time for discussion) does not exceed 15 minutes.
small group discussion
The small group discussion is a focused presentation on a topic followed by exchange between the presenters and the audience.
The format consists of a 45-minute session, a brief (20-30 minutes) presentation by one or more presenters, ample time for questions and comments from the audience, and responses by the presenters.
The panel discussion examines diverse perspectives and approaches to educational issues, especially those requiring collaborative work from multiple departments or institutions.
The panel discussion provides 90 minutes for presentations by two or more panelists and a moderator followed by responses from the audience, and exchange between participants.
The workshop provides a skill-oriented, interactive experience for learners, which will allow them to take home specific knowledge and skills.
The format consists of 90 minutes for the workshop by one or more presenters. It is expected that the workshop activities will include hands-on practice and/or active learning for a good portion of the workshop time.
