Ray Obeido & Friends
The world of contemporary jazz guitarist Ray Obiedo is an energetic and hypnotically rhythmic soundscape. It shows off the passion, flavor and style of the Northern California region that nurtured the musical soul of this fascinating and prolific jazz artist. The sounds of Miles Davis, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Henry Mancini and the popular sounds of Motown Records influenced his early musical persona. Probably the greatest influence on his embryonic career, however, was the James Brown revue, whose funky, percussive guitar sounds was the platform on which Obiedo built his technique. Ray Obeido and Friends will be featuring Leah Tysee.
